Reflecting
on a memorable school year drawing to an end, I realize how blessed we are to
have such an extraordinary school community. Our students are exceptionally
talented and outstandingly kind hearted; our faculty and staff remarkably
dedicated; and our parents are notably, and admirably supportive.
At the End-of-Year Awards ceremony, we recognized
students from First to Seventh grade, paying tribute to their growth, and
commitment to better themselves. I would like to commend all of our students,
but especially those who received awards for their sustained efforts toward
academic achievement. Building the
spirit and discipline to consistently pursue personal excellence is no small
thing. Doing so while demonstrating
themselves as a Christian community willing to serve others really leaves one
impressed with the nature of our youth.
The summer months are time for cookouts,
vacations, and play-time. As your child is engaging in physical activities,
remember to have them also exercise their mind!
Specifically, encourage your child to read during the summer. While Our
Lady of Fatima assigns summer reading, we recommend families and students read
together and discover favorites other than those earmarked by our Faculty. Local libraries such as the Artesia branch we
partner with, offer programs to foster a child’s desire to read. You can visit your local library’s website
for further details, or stop by and speak to the librarians who work with your
children each week right next door.
Please note the school office will be closed June
28 through July 30. Beginning August 2 the office will be open from 9:00 am –
1:00 pm. Regular office hours will resume
Monday, August 30. We are quite pleased
to be introducing some positive changes to our school facilities and your
child’s educational experience. Please
be sure to look at the summer mailing and stay abreast of further details
through our website www.fatimachargers.com .
Finally, I wish to thank you for another
successful academic year. On behalf of both our outgoing and incoming Pastoral
Teams, and the entire faculty and staff, I would like to say that it is both an
honor and privilege to educate your child.
The partnership between home and school has proven to be a very
important and successful one and we look forward to working with you again next
year.
May you have an enjoyable and safe summer.
Thank you and God bless,
Juan Nagore
